Mandarin, Cantonese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese Translation Services – Which one do I need?

It may seem rather confusing as to which language you need a translator or interpreter for, however, you will be an expert by the time you’ve finished reading this post.

Mandarin – Mandarin is the state language of Mainland China and is spoken in cities such as Beijing and Shanghai as well as in Singapore and Taiwan.

Cantonese – Cantonese is spoken in Hong Kong, Macao and Guangdong.

Simplified Chinese – This written language is used in Mainland China and Singapore, and is the main language used to target Chinese using written media in Australia.

Traditional Chinese – This written language is needed when your target audience is from Taiwan, Hong Kong or Macau.

As a quick summary, both Mandarin and Cantonese are spoken languages and Simplified and Traditional Chinese are written languages.
